Hello Families!

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas and that you will have a blessed New Year! This month we will be getting back into the swing of things after so much time off. I will be evaluating the children to determine how much they have accomplished so far this year. I know they have come a very long way!

January 16th - we will be closed for the Martin Luther King, Jr. holiday

January 30th - Catholic Schools Week begins

Hello Everyone! I hope you had a wonderful Thanksgiving, I sure did! December is another busy and short month for us especially since we are in the Christmas Program. Your children chose the parts they want to play, angels, sheep, shepherds and one donkey. We have a lot of songs to learn, but don't worry, if the children don't know the words they will still be adorable. The following is a quick rundown of our month.

Dec. 8th - Feast of the Immaculate Conception Mass, 8:15 a.m.
Dec. 14th - Christmas Program at St. Patrick's Church 6:30 p.m. (have your children there no later than 6:00 p.m. please.
Dec. 16th - Jesus birthday celebration with a special snack and 12:30 dismissal - school will be closed until January 3rd.

Hello All;
Wow! October just flew by! November will be a short and busy month for us. The following is a rundown of how our month will go.

Nov. 9th - Thanksgiving Program (we are not in it, but join us for a great show and delicious feast!)
Nov. 11th - Closed for Veterans Day
Nov. 16th - Preschool Thanksgiving Feast - all children are welcome even if it's not their regular day
Nov. 21st - Nov. 25th - Closed for Thanksgiving Vacation

For those of you who were not able to make it for a Parent/Teacher conference, please contact me at 722-6657 so we can meet at your convenience. I know I speak to most of you on a regular basis, but I would like to sit down with you and discuss your child's progress report. Thank you!

Dear Parents;

This is a very busy month for us and we need your help to make everything run smoothly! My sign up sheet for our Pumpkin Patch Day is full, thank you so much, but we need a lot more help in manning our cake walk booth during the school wide Halloween Carnival on Oct. 29th. The slots are for only 30 minutes each, so won't you please help us out? The sign up sheet is on the wall in between my classroom and Mrs. Mary's. We also need all you bakers out there to help us in providing cakes and cookies. Please bring cookies 4 to a plate so we can stretch them out. Brownies or any other baked goods are welcome. This is a very popular booth and I would hate to run out of goodies before the night is over! Us Teachers will do what we can, but we can't make it a success without you! Thank you so very much!

Don't forget Parent/Teacher conferences on Monday, October 24th and Tuesday, October 25th. I have a sign up sheet in the classroom for that. I am so looking forward to sitting down with you to talk about all the progress your children have made so far. If none of the times available will work for you, please see me about setting up another time. It is so important that we work together to help your child on their road to Kindergarten.

Hi Everyone, I hope you have your umbrellas ready! Here is a list of things you can expect in October...

Oct. 6th - school picture retake
Oct. 23rd - 28th Preschool Parent/Teacher Conferences (see sign up sheet in classroom)
Oct. 29th - Halloween Carnival - in back circle from 5:00 pm - 8:00 pm (costumes encouraged!)
Oct. 31st - The Great Pumpkin Patch - 8:00 am - 11:00 am (no costumes please)

I have sent home a note explaining our "Pink Jar" and have had a few students bring in change to donate to finding the cure for breast cancer. If your child hasn't brought a bag of coins in (pennies are fine) please let them do so. The children feel important when we hand them their very own bags.

Hello everyone! Just a short note to let you know that this Friday, Sept., 23rd it will be our turn to bring lunches for St. Vincent de Paul. It is a tradition we are continuing to help feed the needy in our community. The children are decorating lunch bags and will bring them home tomorrow. Please include a sandwich (without mayonnaise), fruit, cookies, chips or what ever you would like to give. Have your child bring the lunch on Friday, or if your child does not come on Fridays, Thursday will be OK. Thank you so much for your generosity.

I have had a few of you who said you would like to help out in the classroom. In order for you to do that, you must complete Safe Environment Training and be fingerprinted. We are offering Safe Environment Training on Wednesday, Sept. 28th at 6:00 in the library. I hope you can make it.

Dear Parents;
Salutes and prayers on this Patriots Day. I was anxious to put my flag out this morning, but had to wait until it stopped sprinkling. If you can't tell, I'm very patriotic. I am an Air Force brat and a proud American. I fly my flag every day of the year (unless it's raining!) and of course take it down every evening. Once again, thanks to one of my parents from last year, the children have the opportunity to send pictures overseas to our troops. This is just one of the projects that we do that humbles me and makes me want to do more. Your children are in the process of coloring a boy or girl that looks like them with their arms spread wide to give a great big thank you hug to those who are protecting our nation. Please keep them in your prayers.

Proud to be an American, a Christian, a Teacher in a Faith filled school like Our Lady of Mercy.

Dear Families;
September is almost upon us and we are ready! Thank you to those of you who were able to make it to our Open House on Sunday. The children worked very hard to get their projects completed so they could show them off to you. The following is a run down of our September calendar.

September 2nd - Mass at 8:15 am - please have your children wear their OLM T-shirts and have them in the classroom no later than 7:50 so we can get them ready.

September 5th - we will be closed for Labor Day.

September 7th - 8th - School pictures, please turn in your picture envelopes by September 6th.

September 8th - Mother Mary's Birthday.

Dear Families;
Just a short note to remind you that we are having our annual open house on Sunday, Aug. 28th. The classrooms will be open from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm. The eighth grade will be offering a tri tip and rigatoni dinner in the auditorium from 11:00 am - 2:00 pm. Tickets at the door are $10.00 for adults and $7.00 for children and take out will be available.

I have received t-shirts from all but six of you and would very much appreciate it if you haven't already brought in one of your child's t-shirts that you do so before open house.

I'll see you at school and I'll see you at open house : )

Dear Families...WELCOME!!! School has been in session for two days now and your children are doing wonderfully! I know this will be a fantastic year because we have a great group of children!

If you haven't already brought in extra clothes for your child, please do so. It is very important for you to check the file box every day and to be sure that you sign your child in and out everyday with your full signature.

We will be closed for Labor Day on Monday, September 5th

School pictures will be taken on Wednesday, September 7th and Thursday, September 8th

Please feel free to contact me anytime with any concerns you may have.

Remember - There is always, always, always something to be thankful for
